However, any Age of Sail armor can be found for those wanting some protection if they don't care about the weight, using the usual rules for increasing armor thickness at the expense of cost and weight.
Home-made armor using industrial or scrap steel rather than face-hardened armor steel will have a -1 to Armor Value compared to professional Age of Sail armorer standards, or equivalent to Pre-Industrial armor.

- Ned Kelly's Armor: The armor worn by notorious outlaw Ned Kelly and other members of his gang during their final rampage and shootout. These ramshackle suits were hand-crafted out in the bush from plough mouldboards, and successfully resisted a hail of gunfire. The head covering acts like a great helm, giving -2 to Awareness, -2 to Vigor for Breath recovery rolls, and -2 to Awareness for anyone to hear your speach.
