Emergent Mk-48 SwarmBot |
The SwarmBot is an ostrich-leg robot, with one arm on top of its body that mounts a weapon, a second manipulator arm on its back for reloading and weapon stabilization, and a large turret up-front that contains sensors and a beam pointer for an internal laser.
A usual load-out is a needle rifle and battle laser.
A subset of SwarmBots are modified to hold different weapons - the arm weapon may be switched out for a double-barrel RPG launcher, and the battle laser may be exchanged for a big game laser.
SwarmBots are designed to be low cost and easy to produce in large numbers.
They have only a basic robot's performance, used tactically to simply overhwelm the enemy with sheer numbers.
Nonetheless, they are programmed with the basics of infantry tactics.
In the game sheet description, the encumbrance for the robot's installed weapons is already figured in, but spare ammunition is not.
In particular, the ammo load for an RPG can be significant.
The ammunition for the needlers is assumed to be armor piercing flechettes.
The beam pointer turret is stabilized, allowing the robot to move at full speed and fire its laser without penalty.
Swarmbots are designed to fold up into a compact shape that can stack easily for storage. They are often carried in a rack system with sliding rails that deploy to drop the SwarmBots off. A typical SwarmBot rack holds 100 bots. A squad of 100 SwarmBots will typically be overseen by one sapient soldier.

Emergent ABR-6 Katar |
The ABR-6 Katar is a high performance combat robot designed for situations where quality is required over quantity.
The acronym "ABR" stands for Advanced Battle Robot.
It is a centauroid robot – a quadruped with two arms on a torso and a laser beam pointer turret where a head would be on a Human.
The main body contains a laser pack, whose beam is funneled through the beam pointer "head".
Katars usually use their arms to carry a machine needler, an anti-materiel needler, an auto I-launch, or a recoilless rifle.
Katar robots sometimes are sent out on their own to complete missions.
Katar robots also often serve as leaders for a squad of SwarmBots.
They will use their superior tactical programming to direct the group for maximum effectiveness.
Or the Katar bots can be found working in small teams.
A typical squad will contain four bots – three standard bots and one heavy weapons bot with a recoilless rifle and a sniper laser.
The encumbrance of the Katar robot's weapons is already included in the game stat sheet, but not any extra ammunition.
Those bots with recoilless rifles will usually have 10 reolads, which may include a couple of specialty rounds such as pure blast warheads for taking out enemies in enclosed environments, or smoke rounds for signalling or laying down concealment.
The beam pointer turret is stabilized, allowing the robot to move at full speed and fire its laser without penalty.

Emergent Mjölnir-D4 Heavy Weapons Robot |
Emergent's Mjölnir-D4 is a large high-performance ostrich-legged robot equipped with a variety of heavy weapons.
Internally, it carries either a heavy support laser or a battlesuit laser, which can be routed to retractable beam pointer turrets at its nose or on its top.
Two mount arms are on either side;
each of these can be equipped with either a 20mm autocannon, a three-tube anti-tank missile launcher, a four-tube MANPADS anti-air missile launcher, or a single light vehicular missile.
This allows a single design to be used, with minimal modification, for anti-infantry, anti-battlesuit/light armored vehcile, anti-armor, anti-aircraft, or light artillery.
A mobile shield plate helps to protect the joints of the arm, and also serves as a mount for an array of anti-projectile rockets.
Mjölnirs do not have the ability to reload their weapons.
They are often deployed with support robots that can perform that duty.
Mjölnirs are designed to fold up into a compact space for storage or transport (shown in the lower illustration at right). They can be hung on deployment racks that can rapidly unload them and drop them off. A Panther IFV can carry up to 16 Mjölnirs in this fashion.
The Mjölnir's weapons and armor encumbrance is already factored in to the stat sheet.
The ammunition for the autocannon is assumed to be either armor piercing flechettes or explosive shells.

Alexia RTL-88 Ratel Light Tank |
The Ratel is a light robot tank, small enough to be airlifted into the field and able to work in difficult terrain.
It is a "spider tank" configuration, with six legs that provide superior mobility over rugged ground.
The standard Ratel is armed with an induction cannon, co-axial machine gun, and an air-defense laser. The Fire Weasel variant swaps the induction cannon and air defense laser for a single higher power heavy laser cannon upgraded with a 70 cm beam pointer scope.
The turret also houses smoke grenade dispensers and launch tubes for anti-projectile rockets.
The laser provides near-unlimited shots against incoming threats, while the rockets can counter incoming attacks from multiple directions or large numbers of incoming rounds at once.
The surface is a holographic stealth covering (deactivated in the illustration).
A vehicular multiscanner allows it to monitor for enemy life signs and vehicles, incoming projectiles, and buried threats like land mines.
It can be fitted with a rack on the back that can hold up to 50 SwarmBots or 8 Katars (not extended for use in the illustration).

Chang-MacDonald HCT-21 Kaiju Tank |
The Kaiju is a large, heavily armored robot tank.
The entire design is low and flat, allowing it make use of cover like low hills, brush, and berms, and also presenting a small frontal cross section to the enemy.
Its track wheels are mounted on independent dynamic suspension arms with a high range of motion, allowing it to cross rough terrain or hunker down.
It has a large top turret containing its main induction cannon and a co-axial machine gun, as well as launch tubes for anti-projectile rockets and smoke grenades.
The secondary turret with the beam pointer for its air defense laser is on top of its main turret.
The Gojira variant swaps out the induction cannon and air defense laser for a large laser cannon.
A rack system on the back can hold up to 100 SwarmBots or 15 Katars, which are deployed to provide screening and infantry support.
Its multiscanner allows it to scan for enemy threats, life signs, incoming munitions, and buried mines.
This tank is named after a mythical monster of Old Earth, renowned for its size, strength, and invincibility. Although the culture in which it originated had never settled the Verge, and their language only survives here academically, the art and literature of those long-ago people are still widely circulated and considered classics.

Rebond's DFAC-12 Wyvern is a VTOL gunship, used to support infantry and destroy armored fighting vehicles.
It flies using three tilting ducted fan rotors.
The body is armored to withstand most smallarms fire, although man-portable missiles still pose a danger.
A point defense laser is focused through a front turret, an articulated arm mount holds a autocannon.
The Wyvern has 8 external hardpoints, each of which can mount up to 200 kg of ordinance.
Munitions attached to these hardpoints do not interfere with the Wyvern's stealth or cloaking if they are sneaker-seekers or contained within an external housing pod.
Internal missile bays can hold another 1000 kg of ordinance which do not interfere with stealth or cloaking regardless of the type of munition.
The missile load is not included in the listed carried mass or allowed additional encumbrance, but the armor, laser, and autocannon are.

Nommo NightWing Attack Drone |
Nommo Industry produces the NightWing as a military forward observation platform, light bomber, air attack vehicle, and rapid response ground attack plane.
It is a stealth VTOL jet drone capable of supersonic speed, with an internal bay for air attack and ground attack missiles.
It uses a delta-wing lifting body shape without vertical tail fins, looking like an ominous black triangular dart when de-cloaked.
Its thrusters are of the "whisper" variety, making little sound.
When its invisibility surface is activated, it seems to vanish into the air.
The NightWing has a point defense laser inside of it, with the beam steered by any of several retractable turreted beam pointers near its nose or engine for 360° coverage. Its internal weapons bay can carry a number of missiles. A typical loadout is 7 air attack missiles and 2 ground attack missiles, 7 air attack missiles and 6 glide bombs, one heavy bomb, 40 light vehicular missiles, or any combination of ordinance whose total mass is 2000 kg or less.
The NightWing's laser is included in its listed carried mass and already taken out of its encumbrance limit, but its missile load is not.
When the NightWing has its landing gear fully retracted, its ordinance-bay doors closed, its laser turrets fully withdrawn into the body, and is not operating on VTOL (with the VTOL fan covers in place), it can subtract its Stealth Body Shape score from both its radar and aedar signature. This stacks with both radar stealth and any distortion field generator that might be in use.
One of the curious features of the NightWing is that it is designed to land and hover upside down compared to its normal orientation in flight.
When dropping unpowered bombs it also flies upside down, but missiles can be launched from any orientation.

The Accipiter is a full sized fighter-bomber VTOL jet drone. It uses a blended wing body design without vertical fins to cut down on its radar profile.
While it has a laser for close attack and point defense, it primarily relies on its missiles and bombs for attack. These are kept in an interior bomb bay.
The Accipiter has a capacity of up to 6000 kg of munitions.
A typical loadout for ground attack would be 9 ground attack missiles, 2 heavy bombs, or 28 glide bombs, with 12 air attack missiles just in case of encountering opposition. An anti-air loadout would consist of 40 air attack missiles.
If saturating point defense beams is a consideration, a missile spam loadout of 84 light vehicular missiles and 12 air attack missiles is a common option.
