Emergent HelpMate Android

	The HelpMate is a ubiquitous model of android, commonly used for customer service, secritarial duties, domestic service, janitorial work, or nursing. It has a relatively bland utilitarian appearance, with a cheap plastic shell over its humanoid frame. The face is a smooth featureless surface covered with a display screen, usually showing stylized eyes, eybrows, and mouth to indicate simulated emotions and attention. Stock HelpMates come with the choice of one of the following Task programs: Customer Service, Chef, Secretary, Janitor, Housekeeping, or Nurse. Public-facing HelpMates often have upgraded Personality Simulators for improved customer experience.

EXR Industries Astarte Android Simulant

	Exclusive Robotics (EXR) Industries produces the Astarte model simulant for discerning clients across the verge. Astartes feature top of the line mecho-organic design for a look, sound, and feel that is practically indistinguishable from a Human without advanced sensors or a medical check-up. They are programmed with bleeding-edge personality simulator software, to give them a pleasant and charming demeanor. A top-grade personal assistant program is used to give the Astart the ability to look up answers over the internet in order to fake knowledge so that they can hold scintillating conversations. Astarte robots are bespoke productions. Each is pre-ordered by the client and its appearance and personality chosen before it is manufactured. Occasionally, EXR is called on to work with a client to produce an Astarte that can mimic a specific person. Astartes can be made either male or female (or even intersex or neuter); however, the majority that have been manufactured are female. The Astarte model is advertised as being an ideal personal assistent, receptionist, or hostess. Their actual use by most clients, although generally understood, is not discussed by EXR. It is rumored that EXR produces Astartes for undercover government operations, or even for criminal organizations or corporate espionage. Neither these rumors, nor wilder rumors of prominent people in important positions being replaced by Astartes, have ever been substantiated.
