In memory of Dr. Robert L. Forward.
In Dr. Forward's book "Flight of the Dragonfly" and its expansion "Rocheworld", human explorers to Barnard's Star encounter enormous, amorphous alien intelligences living in a world ocean of ammonia and water.
Technical Notes
The swimming ladies make use of
David Wiles's incredible Malena texture for poser figures. In the same
spirit of sharing, I am making available to all who want them the helmet, swim fins,
life support pack, and hoses used to make the swimmers.
Helmet, OBJ format
Life support pack, OBJ format.
tube, OBJ format.
tube, RSR file.
Assembled swimmer, poser file. Includes helmet,
life support pack, and poseable tube attached to the swimmer in the right places.
You will need the tube.OBJ file and maybe the tube.rsr file in your poser
Runtime/Geometries directory.
The Flouwen themselves are, of course, Bryce metaballs.
What? No bubbles? The life support packs use rebreathers, so exhaled air is scrubbed of CO2, refreshed with oxygen, and reused rather than being vented to the environment.
If you look closely, you can see how cold the water/ammonia ocean really is :-)
