Middle Cretaceous Africa was home to a gargantuan crocodilian, one of the largest known. Sarcosuchus was similar to modern crocodiles, although the end of its snout flared out to a widened end. Sarcosuchus could reach Monstrous size. The relatively long and narrow jaws of this species would have reduced its biting power. Still, it undoubtedly dined on dinosaurs from time to time.
