Green Anacondas in GURPS

Eunectes murinus

Anacondas are the largest snake in the world. While not as long as reticulated pythons, no snake grows heavier. Anacondas are water snakes, found lurking in the shallows of lakes, ponds, and slow moving rivers in the Orinoco and Amazon drainage basins of South America. They are very heavy bodied, a greenish-yellow in color with round, brown blotches. Its eyes and nostrils are on the top of its head, allowing it to rest in the water while breathing and watching for prey.

Anacondas will eat fish, lizards, caimans, and mammals that get too close to the water's edge, including capybara, monkeys, deer, and peccaries. Occasionally, anacondas climb trees and ambush their prey from above. These serpents grow large enough to kill humans, and although attacks have been reported, there are no known deaths due to this species.

Anacondas do not grow to a definite size, but adults commonly range up to Giant sized. Very large specimens can attain Immense size. Anacondas are generally shorter for their body size than other snakes, but this is too slight an effect to have consequences in the game.
