Mastodons in GURPS

Mastodons were large proboscidians that lived in North and Central America from the late Miocene until the end of the Pleistocene. Mastodons were browsers.

• The American mastodon Mammut americanum existed from the middle Pliocene to the latest Pleistocene. It was covered in shaggy hair. This mastodon lived in cold spruce woodlands and warmer lowland habitats.
• Mammut cosoensis was from late Pliocene California.
• Mammut raki lived throughout North America's Pliocene.
• Mammut furlongi lived in late Miocene Oregon.
