The stats given are for the cairn terrier, a peppy wire-haired breed, but the same stats can be used for practically any of the small terriers. These are dogs bred to hunt vermin and other small animals, and they have a predilection for killing just about any small critter they can get their jaws around. Terriers tend to be excitable and headstrong; some find them annoying yappy little things but they can be deadly effective at their role as an exterminator of vermin if given the opportunity. Once they grab their prey, they generally hang on and shake it violently, not letting go until it is dead. Those that can be trained not to attack ferrets can make a frighteningly effective rat killing team - the ferrets enter the rat tunnels to flush the rodents or slay them in their dens, the terriers wait outside to kill anything that scurries away.
