Borophagine "wolves" in GURPS
Several borophagines grew to sizes of coyotes or wolves. They had massive heads and powerful bone-crushing jaws. They were inhabitants of North America in the Miocene and Pliocene.
- Tomarctus was coyote-sized. It existed in the early to middle Miocene.
- Carpocyon was the size of a small wolf. It lived during the middle to late Miocene.
- Protepicyon was wolf-sized. It lived in the middle Miocene.
- Aelurodon was medium wolf-sized, and was almost entirely carnivorous (and probably a scavenger as well). It lived in the middle to late Miocene.
- Epicyon saevus grew as large as a timber wolf, and was a pure hunter-scavenger. It lived throughout the Miocene.
- Epicyon haydeni was a tiger-sized beast, and was the largest canid known to have ever lived. It was also a pure hunter-scavenger. It lived throughout the Miocene.
- Borophagus was medium wolf-sized. It lived from the early Miocene to the middle Pliocene.
