Chasmosaurs in GURPS
Chasmosaurs were a group of ceratopsians from Laramidia between 77 and 65 million years ago. They sported very large neck frills and typically had large brow horns and a smaller nose horn.
Here are some of the better known species. Other species can be treated as any of these types properly scaled for mass.
- Chasmosaurus was a 4 to 5 meter long beast, massing 1 to 2 tons. It lived 77 to 76 million years ago in northern Laramidia.
- Utahceratops reached lengths of 6 to 7 meters and masses of 3 to 4 tons. It was found in southern Laramidia between 77 and 75 million years ago.
- Triceratops was 8 to 9 meters long and 6 to 12 tons in mass. It has been suggested that Torosaurus is merely an adult form of Triceratops, which represents only juvenile animals. Triceratops is from northern Laramidia between 68 and 65 million years ago. It was one of the last living dinosaurs, and one of the most populous large animals in Laramidia during its time.
