E-Bombs
An explosive can be used to impulsively drive an electrical generator, producing an intense, if brief, pulse of electrical current that can be forced through a one-shot microwave generator and focusing antenna.
This is an electronic bomb, or E-bomb, and it makes a nifty and compact counter-electronics weapon.
Needless to say, it can only be used once, and it's violent disassembly poses a hazard to nearby bystanders.
It does, however, allow much more powerful microwave surges than you can get from multi-use HPM devices.
Some E-bombs produce cones or beams of microwaves that can be aimed at distant targets.
Others broadcast their microwave radiation in all directions, indescriminantly frying all nearby electronics.
For omni-directional E-bombs, use the range score of the distance from the blast to the target instead of the SM of the width of the beam.
E-bomb radiation is quite broadband. Consequently, they cannot be tuned like that of HPM guns to exploit vulnerabilities to specific frequencies.
